I'm not sure if you're familiar with the ribbon photo holders, but you could use Christmas fabric and display Christmas cards you receive in it instead of having to find a flat surface to put them on.
Basically you wrap fabric (with batting underneath) around a board and attach it on the back, then lay ribbons across the front in a criss-cross pattern and hold them in place with furniture tacks. You wind up with a grid of ribbon and you can slide pictures/cards behind the ribbon to hold them in place. I tried to find a picture yesterday, but had limited success.
So, you cut the Christmas fabric into strips like ribbon and hang it on the wall and pin the cards to it?
